Craig Tara Haven Holidays Surrounding Area

This region is full of history and raw beauty just waiting to be explored. There are many temptations on offer, from the rugged coastline and quiet beaches to capital culture and castles. In every direction, it’s uncrowded and unbelievably beautiful.

Ayr Racecourse

Ayr Racecourse

The Ayr course is a left-handed circuit of one and a half miles comprising nine fences, with well-graduated turns. There is a steady downhill run to the home turn and a gentle rise to the finish. There is a run-in of 210 yards. When the going is firm the course is sharp, but conditions regularly get extremely gruelling, making for a thorough test.

Deep Sea World

Deep Sea World

Come face to face with one of Europe's largest collections of sharks in one of the world's longest underwater tunnels at Deep Sea World, Scotland's National Aquarium.
Located beneath the world-famous Forth Rail Bridge, Deep Sea World is Scotland’s national aquarium.

Edinburgh Castle

Edinburgh Castle

Edinburgh Castle is simply magnificent. It occupies the summit of an ancient plug of volcanic rock towering 260ft or 80m above the city it dominates, and is visible for tens of miles in every direction. No fairytale castle, this is the real thing, an uncompromisingly defensive structure that seems to grow organically out of the living rock beneath it.

Scottish Sea Bird Centre

Scottish Sea Bird Centre

Enjoy a great day out at the seaside with the five star Scottish Seabird Centre, North Berwick, only 30 minutes from Edinburgh.
In the Discovery Centre control interactive live cameras on the local islands to zoom in on the amazing wildlife in its natural habitat. Don't miss the gannets on the Bass Rock, the world's largest colony of Northern gannets.

The Royal Yacht Britannia

The Royal Yacht Britannia

The Royal Yacht Britannia played host to some of the world’s most famous people, but above all was home for the British Royal Family for over 40 years. Now berthed in Leith, Edinburgh, you can discover the heart and soul of this most special of Royal residences.

Edinburgh Zoo

Edinburgh Zoo

RZSS Edinburgh Zoo is packed with fun and un-zoo-sual things to do.
Why not watch our famous penguin parade and visit the world’s only Knighted penguin, Sir Nils Olav. Or spend your day learning about brilliant birds, mischievous meerkats, super strong sun bears and more with daily keeper talks.

The Edinburgh Dungeon

The Edinburgh Dungeon

The Edinburgh Dungeon is a uniquely thrilling attraction that will whisk you way back to the city’s most perilous past. See, hear, feel and (ahem) smell the chillingly amusing characters of the ‘bad old days’ as they come to life before you. Will you lose yourself in fear or in mirth? Whichever way, it’s not looking good for your underwear.

National Trust for Scotland

National Trust for Scotland

The National Trust for Scotland is the independent charity that protects and shares some of our country’s most precious historic places and natural landscapes on behalf of the people of Scotland.
